Last night we made history

For decades, no sitting governor has ever lost a re-election in Pennsylvania. But because of our commitment, because of our hard work and our voices, we defeated Tom Corbett and elected a true ally as our next governor — Tom Wolf.
We can take a moment to celebrate and congratulate our brothers and sisters on all of our achievements over this campaign, but now is when the real work begins. We now have a governor who will work for us, with us, to build up workers and families and create an economy that benefits everyone, but he can’t do it alone.
As the dust settles, we learn that we will face even greater opposition in the House and Senate than ever before. He’s facing a legislature that will try to hold him — and us — back at every turn.  He’ll need our help to bring real change to Pennsylvania.
If we really want to help Tom Wolf bring funding back to education, make corporations pay their fair share and expand Medicaid the right way in Pennsylvania, we’ll need to be by his side every step of the way. We’ll have to call, write and visit our legislators to let them know that we want change, that we need change. We know we can do it. We know that when we fight, we win. When we work together, we can move mountains.
Last night we made history. Now it’s time to build our future.
