SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania represents the nurses and other health professionals who work for the PA Departments of Health, Human Services, Military and Veterans Affairs, and Corrections.
State health professionals are engaged in social good, taking care of forgotten Pennsylvanians, sometimes in hostile environments. Driven by the belief that every human being deserves medical care, we are a vital part of the social fabric of our Commonwealth.
We have a unique set of challenges in attaining resources needed to provide care to our patients, because our ability to deliver care is directly tied to political decisions and funding issues. This is why it’s so important that we have a collective voice through our union. We need to be able to communicate with our elected leaders to advocate for those we care for, safety in the workplace, and the vital services we provide. That’s hard to do when you’re just one lone voice. No matter who is in elected office, we must continually advocate for our jobs and our patients and demand the funding needed to protect the public health.
