We Kicked Off Bargaining!
On Tuesday, January 15, nearly 200 All In Team members from across the state traveled to Harrisburg for our first day of coordinated bargaining.
Together we showed our unified strength to the representatives from Golden Living Center, Genesis, Extendicare, Reliant and Guardian nursing home chains as well as independent homes. Global did not send a representative.
We laid out to our employers our six bargaining priorities which will help us improve quality resident care and quality jobs:
- Family-Sustaining Wages
- Affordable Healthcare
- A Real Retirement
- More Paid Time-Off
- Expanded Training and Education
- Improved Staffing
We also discussed what it will take to win in 2013 and beyond. We need to continue keeping ourselves informed, engaged and in contact with our lawmakers to educate them on the importance of our work so we can make important legislative improvements as well. Make sure you and co-workers sign our All In petition!
“I am standing with nursing home workers across the state because we all deserve a fair share in the economy. We are all in this together to make our facilities a better place for everyone’s loved ones.”
