We Call on WellSpan to Value Chambersburg Hospital Workers to Ensure the Highest Quality Care for Our Community

The workers at Chambersburg Hospital provide compassionate care for our community every single day. They deliver our babies, treat cancer patients and save car crash victims. Every member of the healthcare team is absolutely essential.

But Chambersburg workers are facing a crisis of burnout, turnover and understaffing that makes it very challenging to provide the care our community urgently needs. Instead of addressing these problems in a meaningful way, WellSpan Health spent $29 million on an out-of-state temporary staffing corporation in 2023.

That’s why we’re calling on WellSpan Health to invest their huge profits in supporting, retaining and recruiting permanent staff here in Chambersburg. WellSpan must negotiate a fair union contract with workers to ensure Chambersburg Hospital continues its proud legacy of being the premier healthcare provider and employer for our region.
