Pittsburgh – Neal Bisno, President of SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, made the following statement in response to UPMC’s filing of an amended complaint in its lawsuit against the City of Pittsburgh:
“It’s time for a change of course at UPMC, and Pittsburgh is united in support of UPMC paying its fair share to support our schools, transits and families.”
“From turning away patients with insurance it doesn’t like to attempting to silence employees coming together to improve their jobs, UPMC is bullying members our community, and it’s got to stop.
“Pittsburgh needs the city’s largest landowner to pay its fair share of taxes, and we need our city’s largest employer to create good jobs that let workers support their families. We won’t be bullied by frivolous lawsuits that try to distract from the fact that Pittsburgh needs more from UPMC.”
