Harrisburg – . Today, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Pennsylvania State Council, which represents 80,000 workers statewide – including property service workers, health care workers, public service workers, school employees, laundry and distribution workers – announced its list of endorsed candidates for the 2022 Primary Election (see list pasted below or by region here). General Election endorsements will be announced at a future date.
“For far too long, major corporations have rigged the rules in their favor and have left working people in the dust – and following a pandemic that magnified those injustices, we can’t go back to the ‘normal’ that never worked for essential workers,” said Gabe Morgan, President of the SEIU PA State Council and Vice President of SEIU 32BJ.

“Essential workers and caregivers must have our voices heard and our hard work and sacrifice during this pandemic respected. That’s why we are proud to endorse candidates who are champions and will work tirelessly to end the crisis of short staffing, raise wages for all workers, and fight for ‘Unions For All’ to expand labor rights to all working people,” said Matt Yarnell, Secretary Treasurer of the SEIU PA State Council and President of SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania. “Essential workers know the stakes of this election and are taking action to shape our future by who we endorse and support.”

The SEIU State Council is comprised of SEIU Local 32BJ, SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, SEIU Local 668, and the Pennsylvania Joint Board of Workers United.
