Hi Union Member,
Remember this guy?

Ben Landa, the nursing home owner with a record of fraud, human trafficking and poor care, who was nominated to be an ambassador.
He’s the one who hundreds of us called Senator McCormick and spoke in front of his office about a month ago. We called on McCormick to hold owners like him accountable, not promote him, especially since Landa was the owner of homes in our state.
Because of our actions, the national news is now shining a light on Ben Landa.

It’s not just Landa. Now the news is picking up that there are other owners like him. Check out this article about Joseph Schwartz, former CEO of Skyline who used to own homes in PA before the company collapsed and left residents and workers abandoned.

Landa’s nomination is exposing a deeper problem in the nursing home system: a lack of accountability lets nursing home owners suck taxpayer money away from bedside care for profits and business expansion. While workers like us struggle to get by and often pay for snacks, toiletries, and treats for residents with our own money.
And the national news is picking it up because we spoke up for our residents. Us speaking up matters.
Help keep the drumbeat going and take 5 minutes to fill out the Pennsylvania Nursing Home Worker survey. The results will be used to pass stronger accountability so these care-cutting owners can’t enter our state.
