Philadelphia – Chestnut Hill Hospital workers will be holding a rally and informational picket on Wednesday afternoon to inform the community about their efforts to improve jobs at the hospital and make it the provider of choice in the area. Philadelphia City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown and other supporters will join the workers for rally.
The workers formed a union with SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania last year and have been negotiating their first contract since September. Progress has been slow and significant issues concerning wages, benefits, scheduling and other working conditions remain.
